Moriah Jackson Was Right.
Moriah's comment as to why she was leaving Twitter was " It is all so tedious and how many times can I read dumb questions such as " Does your MC use soap?"
Yes, Twitter is tedious.
Some random thoughts on Twitter/X
- Twitterites with a pathological compulsion to clamor for attention as they rant about the “Oxford comma” write books that are boring to read. When accosted by such pathetic folks in my feed, I just block them and ensure such miserable folks won’t be in my feed again…11 out of 10 times, the books from these people are not worth reading. When you are on Twitter and telling strangers you will “die on the hill” of a punctuation mark, you are saying, “My life is pathetic, devoid of accomplishment, so I will jettison my self-respect, debase myself and post nonsense.” Nobody cares about the arcane grammar rules of yesteryear. Those people need to take a giant step forward.
- When I log in to the Twitter site, I spend a few minutes blocking clowns who rant about politics. “Team Blue,” “Team Red.” You are all being used, and allegiance to a political tribe is an illness. When you lie /deny reality out of allegiance to a political party, you are nothing but a useful idiot.
- Twitter feeds me “editors,” kids who lack any qualification to get the jobs they land due to family connections – these people want me to believe they can “help” authors by making suggestions (because surely their lack of qualifications separates them from anybody else with an opinion) to make a manuscript “better .” They can make the books of others “better” but can’t write a book. Got it...
- The new infantile ranting that cascades in my feed when I log in is mindless commentary about the renaming to “X.” Why would anybody care about this issue? I do not. Shouting at the moon about the man who owns the platform is the modern-day equivalent of standing on the corner with a sandwich sign screaming your insanity.
- I buy a lot of books. They are poetry books, stories, etc. They are not “literature”. I have many books, as well I have a collection of literature. We have fun selling our books online and posting about our books, but let us not lose perspective; we are not adding value to that elite category known as “literature.”
- “Team Tolerance” is never too busy to assail anybody with different views – they show their “tolerance” by hurling invectives at those who do not share their views. “Tolerance”?
